Die:
All custom designs start with a hand cutting process. Your
design is engraved into a slab of steel in the reverse image
by our master die engravers. This metal work of art is
designated as a "die." This die is then used to
create your products and is then stored in a vault for future
orders. It is a one-time investment that can be used over and
over on a myriad of products.
Artwork:
Black and white artwork is required for a custom design; a
supporting photograph is helpful for a detailed design. If
necessary, our artist will create the line art from your
photograph for an additional fee.
Proofs:
Upon completion of the die, an aluminum engraver's proof of
your custom design will be sent to you for approval.
Production of your order will not commence until the design
has been approved.
Verification of Order:
All orders are acknowledged automatically. A copy of your
order will be faxed or mailed to you for your approval. While
this will not delay the production of your order, it is
important to have timely approval in the event of changes.
Delivery Time:
Upon completion and approval of the engraver's proof,
standard production time of your order is 2 weeks. Please
allow extra time for shipping.
Gift Boxes:
Most pieces are individually wrapped in tissue and packaged
in a high quality gift box. A Wendell August pioneer card is
included and gives a brief history of the product.
Engraving:
Engraving is $.75 per character on aluminum, bronze and
pewter; engraving on stainless steel is $1.10 per character. There is a $5.00 per piece minimum.
An engraved monogram charge is $5.00 and requires 3 initials. Pieces may
be engraved on the front if there is adequate space;
otherwise, they will be engraved on the back. Check with a
sales representative to see what works best with the design
and product. If an item is being framed or mounted on a walnut
plaque or base, we suggest a custom plaque to accompany your
piece.
Your company or organization logo can also be engraved on

Handstamps:
Custom handstamps can be created to personalize your
Wendell August pieces. The initial investment is a one time
charge. The handstamp is available for your use on any
product, any time.
For the initial order, allow 3 weeks in addition to the
standard delivery time. All subsequent orders can be completed
within the standard delivery time.

Shipping:
All items will be shipped UPS Ground unless otherwise
requested. Charges are based on dollar value of order. Drop
shipping requests can be accommodated. Please send a list of
addresses along with any enclosure cards one week before
scheduled ship date. Drop shipment charges are based on the
number of pieces and addresses.
Invoicing:
Invoices are sent upon shipment of the product on terms of
net 30 days.
Cancellations:
Orders may be cancelled prior to production. Artwork, die
charges, engraving and handstamp set up charges will be billed
if the cost has been incurred.
